How performance pay works
Performance pay ties what you earn to how your ads do once they run. At Anglr, every video of yours that passes QC and compliance review and runs is paid on performance. The more of your videos run, and the better they do, the more you earn.
The method behind it is volume on proven scripts. One winning script made in five formats is five videos that can earn. One winning script, made in every ad format explains how to make those versions.
The optional smart retainer
The smart retainer is optional. It is for creators and agencies who hit volume consistently, and it is paid on top of performance pay. It does not replace performance pay, and you don't need it to start.
Anglr does not publish the retainer's amount or the volume it needs. Those are agreed with you.
Flat fee vs performance pay
A flat fee and performance pay reward different things. This table compares the two models in general, without figures.
| Flat fee per video | Performance pay | |
|---|---|---|
| When you're paid | When the video is delivered | When the video runs and as it performs |
| What it rewards | Delivering the video | The ad doing well once it runs |
| If the ad flops | Paid the same | Paid less |
| If the ad scales | Paid the same | Paid more |
| Your risk | Low per video | Higher per video |
| Your upside | Capped at the fee | Grows with the ad |
| Best for | Work where results aren't tracked | Ads that run on paid social with tracked results |
Neither model is right for everyone. How much to charge for AI UGC ads collects published market rates for flat-fee AI UGC work, with sources, if you want to compare.
Performance pay vs UGC commission
UGC commission and performance pay both depend on results, but they measure different things. A UGC commission is usually a share of the sales a creator's link or code drives, often on the creator's own channels. Anglr's performance pay is tied to how your ads perform when they run as paid ads, not to sales you drive from your own audience.
| UGC commission | Anglr performance pay | |
|---|---|---|
| What it's based on | Sales attributed to the creator, often through a link or code | How the ads you made perform when they run |
| Needs your own audience | Often | No |
| Who runs the ads | Often the creator posts the content | The ads run as paid ads; you make the videos |

How versions add up
Performance pay rewards volume on proven scripts. A worked example, without figures:
- You receive one winning script with its angle and hooks.
- You make it as a UGC selfie, a podcast clip, a drama, an animation and a brand film.
- All five pass QC and compliance review and run.
- All five are paid on performance.
- The versions that do best get more hooks and more versions, which are also paid on performance.
A creator who makes one version of the script has one video that can earn. A creator who makes five has five.
Who performance pay suits
Performance pay suits people who already make ads that perform and want to be paid for that:
- independent AI creators and editors who make full ads themselves
- AI agencies and studios with editor teams that can make many versions quickly
- people who test hooks and versions instead of shipping one video
- people who can make one script in several formats
Who it doesn't suit
Performance pay is not a good fit if you:
- only want a flat fee
- are new to editing and not yet confident your ads will perform
- want every shot spelled out for you
- make one style and won't try other formats
What counts
Only videos that pass QC and compliance review count. Anglr reviews every video against ad platform rules and brand rules before it goes live. A video that needs changes can be revised and resubmitted.
AI credits
AI credits can be covered based on performance. This is agreed with you when you join.
Payouts
Payouts are made on each brand's payment terms, shown to you before you start, straight to your bank. You see how every video of yours performs, so you can make more versions of what works.
How agencies are paid
Anglr pays the agency on performance. Your agency runs its own team. How you pay your editors is up to you: flat rate or performance. For agencies explains how agencies work with Anglr.
Why Anglr pays on performance
Brands want more versions of the ads that already work. Paying on performance means the people making those versions are paid to make ads that scale, which is the same thing the brand wants. It also means strong creators are not capped at a fixed fee.
How to start
Applying is free. Send ads you or your team made, plus results if you have them. Every application is reviewed by hand and the group is kept small.
For a side-by-side of the two pay models with market sources, read performance pay vs flat fee for AI editors.
The same pay model applies to AI video editors, creators and agencies.
Who this is for
- Independent AI creators and editors. You make the ads yourself. You know your work performs, so you'd rather be paid on what it does than on a flat fee.
- AI agencies and studios. You run a team of editors. You write the brief, your team makes the versions, and you're paid on performance because you know your team's ads scale.
Not for you if
- You only want a flat fee.
- You're new to editing and not yet confident your ads will perform.
- You want every shot spelled out for you.
- You make one style and won't try others.
