What a get-ready ad looks like
A get-ready ad is one person, filmed in vertical selfie framing, doing an everyday routine with the product in it. In the examples on this page that is a woman in a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom or on a beach, often holding a drink, a supplement tub or a skincare bottle.
Some open with on-screen text or a comment-reply sticker, as if the video answers a question from a follower.
Why brands use the routine setting
The product appears where it is actually used, so the viewer sees when and how it fits into a day. The format also looks like ordinary posts in the feed, which gives a brand a softer option next to direct pitches.
Routine beats
- 0–2 s, the opener. Face to camera with a text line or a comment-reply sticker that states the angle.
- 2–6 s, the routine starts. A normal step: making coffee, washing the face, picking an outfit.
- 6–12 s, the product step. The product picked up, opened and used, with one line on why it is in the routine.
- 12–18 s, the next step. The routine carries on, with the product still in frame or mentioned again.
- 18–22 s, the close. Back to the face, with the reason to try it and the call to action.
Settings and props
Match the room to the product so the scene makes sense without explanation.
| Setting | Fits | Props that read in a thumbnail |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen | Drinks, supplements, food | Glass, shaker, counter, kettle |
| Bathroom | Skincare, haircare, oral care | Mirror, sink, towel, bottle |
| Bedroom | Clothing, sleep, make-up | Bed, wardrobe, vanity |
| Beach or outdoors | Sun care, drinks, swimwear | Towel, bag, bottle |
How the script should sound
Write it as someone talking while they do something else. Short lines, present tense, a few pauses where the action carries the clip.
Avoid a pitch in the middle of the routine. One honest line about the product, said while using it, is enough. For a full template with a shot column, see the UGC script template; for opening lines, see ad hooks.
Framing and length
Make it vertical 9:16, with the face in the top half and the product held at chest height so captions do not cover it. Plan for around 15 to 30 seconds; a longer "day in my life" cut can work if each step is short.
Make it with AI
The hard part is keeping one person looking the same across several rooms and actions.
- Generate a character reference image: face, hair, outfit.
- Generate a still for each routine step from that reference, changing only the room and action.
- Animate each still with an image-to-video model in selfie framing, with light handheld movement.
- Generate the voice once for the whole script and lip-sync it to the face shots.
- Add captions, the comment-reply sticker if used, and cut.

Model notes are in the Higgsfield and Seedance guides.
Compliance checks
- Results. No before/after or visible change unless it is real, typical and allowed for the category.
- Testimonial framing. The person is AI-generated. Don't present the clip as a real customer's experience.
- Comment-reply stickers. Use a real comment or a clearly generic question, not a made-up customer quote presented as real.
- AI label. Follow each platform's rules; see AI ad labels on Meta and TikTok.
Where this format sits in the script set
A get-ready version takes the same script as a selfie UGC ad and spreads the lines across a routine. The hook stays as the opener, the claim moves to the product step, and the call to action stays at the end. See one winning script, made in every ad format for the other versions.
Who this is for
- Independent AI creators and editors. You make the ads yourself. You know your work performs, so you'd rather be paid on what it does than on a flat fee.
- AI agencies and studios. You run a team of editors. You write the brief, your team makes the versions, and you're paid on performance because you know your team's ads scale.
Not for you if
- You only want a flat fee.
- You're new to editing and not yet confident your ads will perform.
- You want every shot spelled out for you.
- You make one style and won't try others.
FAQ
What is a get ready with me ad?
It is a vertical selfie video in which one person goes through a routine, such as getting ready in the morning, and uses the product as one step. The product is shown in use rather than pitched.
What products suit AI get-ready UGC ads?
Products that are part of a daily routine: drinks, supplements, skincare, haircare, make-up, clothing and accessories. If the product has no place in a routine, a demo or talking head format is a better fit.
How do I keep the same AI person across all the routine shots?
Generate one reference image of the person and use it for every shot. Keep hair, clothing and setting notes identical in each prompt, and change only the action.
Do AI get-ready ads need captions?
Captions let the clip work with the sound off, so add them for every spoken line. Keep them clear of the face and the product.
Can a get-ready ad show skin or body results?
Only if the result is real, typical and allowed by the platform's rules for that category. AI-generated before/after images of a result the product did not produce should not be used.
