Insense alternatives for creators: no-follower and AI options

By James Tumbucon
Updated · 7 min read

The main Insense alternatives for creators are Influee and Trybe (jointrybe.com), which say followers are not needed, Collabstr's marketplace, Upwork for editing contracts, and Anglr for AI ads that already perform. Insense asks for at least 1,000 followers plus view and engagement minimums, so these platforms suit creators it turns down.

What is Insense?

Insense calls itself "a creative platform that helps brands to get custom creative assets, and to run social marketing campaigns at scale" (Insense FAQ). Creators join through an app and apply to brand campaigns, quoting their own price for each one.

The campaign types on its for-creators page are UGC, influencer posting, product seeding, Partnership Ads, TikTok Shop, Spark Ads and "Affiliate: Earn a percentage of product sales".

How a deal is paid, step by step:

  1. You set an "average price" on your account, then "submit a price that is specific to your campaign". Insense says brands and creators "are welcome to (and encouraged to) negotiate on pricing" (Insense FAQ).
  2. Once you are hired, "your payment is taken from the brand's account and frozen on Insense's account" (Insense).
  3. Your fee includes "up to 3 round of revisions". If the brand still does not approve, you get "at least 50% of the agreed upon Creator Fees" (creator terms).
  4. After approval, the money goes to your Insense wallet. Payout is to PayPal "within 3 working days" or to a bank "within 5 working days" (same terms).

On fees, the creator terms say Insense "may also charge a percentage of the amount of the Creator Fees as a commission" for transferring them. The rate is not stated on their site. For a sense of budgets, Insense's pricing FAQ says "UGC campaigns start at $100 per video" (Insense pricing).

How many followers do you need for Insense?

You need at least 1,000 followers, plus minimum views and engagement. Insense's pages state different figures for views, so here are both versions side by side.

Requirement For-creators page Help center
Followers "a minimum of 1,000 followers on Instagram" "Instagram & TikTok: 1,000 followers"
Views "at least 500 median views on TikTok" "1,000 average views"
Engagement "a minimum of 1% engagement" "Brands prefer creators with an engagement rate of at least 1%."
Portfolio "Upload a strong portfolio of UGC videos" "At least 4 videos", with at least 2 video types, 2 verticals and 1 video of you speaking on camera or doing a voiceover, uploaded in the app
Review time Not stated "1-3 business days" in one article; "up to 72 hours" in another

Three more rules from the same pages:

  • Second route. If you were declined for account metrics, not content quality, "you may be eligible to reapply as a UGC-only creator directly through the app" (4541).
  • Waiting period. After a rejection, re-moderation can be requested only after 2 weeks (4548).
  • Countries. Creators must be in one of 22 listed countries, the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and 16 more countries in Europe (Insense).

Insense's tips for creators include "aiming for at least 20 applications to get chosen in one."

Can you use AI on Insense?

Insense allows AI edits only through its own licensed tools, and the creator approves the result. Its creator terms do not say whether you may submit AI-generated videos.

The relevant clauses in the creator terms:

Clause topic What it says
Who may edit with AI "Sponsor and Creator shall have the right to modify and adapt any Work Product and/or Campaign Content using solely AI-tools licensed by Insense for the Platform"
Creator approval AI Campaign Content made by the sponsor "shall be submitted for approval to Creator via Platform chat"
Deemed approval It counts as approved if the creator does not disapprove "within 14 days"
Your likeness Sponsors may not use your "image, likeness, appearance, voice" outside the platform "for any additional generation of AI Campaign Content without a specific agreement"

The practical step: watch the platform chat. An AI version a brand sends you is treated as approved after 14 days if you say nothing.

If your own work is AI-made from the start, Insense's public pages do not cover it. The platforms in the next section either say nothing about AI, or are built for it.

Which Insense alternatives need no followers?

Influee and Trybe (jointrybe.com) both say in plain words that followers are not needed. Upwork does not involve an audience at all, because clients hire on your profile and proposal.

  • Influee. "From beginners to professionals, creators of all experience levels are finding paid opportunities." It adds that once approved, payment "is automatically processed within 5-10 days - no invoicing required" (Influee).
  • Trybe (jointrybe.com). "The model is built on small, consistent creators" (Trybe).
  • Upwork. Proposals cost Connects, which "cost $0.15 (USD) each and are sold in bundles" (Upwork). It suits editors more than on-camera creators.
  • Anglr (this site). You apply with finished ads, plus results if you have them, and they are checked against published standards: a hook, a product moment and a call to action, a product that stays consistent from shot to shot, no visible generation errors, and claims a brand could legally make.

If you edit rather than generate, see Anglr for AI video editors.

Who each one fits

Insense is the better fit if you already have an audience above its minimums. For other situations, another platform on this list will suit you better.

If you... Better fit Reason, as the platform states it
have 1,000+ followers and want to quote your own price, including posting and affiliate deals Insense You quote per campaign; affiliate campaigns pay "a percentage of product sales"
have no audience and want UGC briefs Influee or Trybe (jointrybe.com) "Do I need followers? No"; "followers don't matter"
want a marketplace listing that brands book from Collabstr Your profile is "listed on the marketplace" once complete
edit video for clients at your own hourly or fixed rate Upwork "We charge the client the exact billing rate you enter"
were turned down by Insense for metrics only Insense, UGC-only route "you may be eligible to reapply as a UGC-only creator"
make full AI ads and already know they perform Anglr (this site) Paid on performance; winning scripts and angles supplied

Anglr is not a starting point. If you are new, or you want to be paid a set fee per video, Insense, Influee and Collabstr suit you better.

How do you apply to each Insense alternative?

Who this is for

  • Independent AI creators and editors. You make the ads yourself. You know your work performs, so you'd rather be paid on what it does than on a flat fee.
  • AI agencies and studios. You run a team of editors. You write the brief, your team makes the versions, and you're paid on performance because you know your team's ads scale.

Not for you if

  • You only want a flat fee.
  • You're new to editing and not yet confident your ads will perform.
  • You want every shot spelled out for you.
  • You make one style and won't try others.

FAQ

How many followers do you need for Insense?

At least 1,000. Insense's help center lists "1,000 followers, 1,000 average views" on Instagram and TikTok, while its for-creators page lists 1,000 Instagram followers and 500 median TikTok views, both with a 1% engagement minimum.

How long does Insense moderation take?

Insense's help pages give "1-3 business days" in one article and "up to 72 hours" in another. If you are rejected, re-moderation can be requested after 2 weeks.

Can you join Insense without followers?

Not as a standard creator. If you were declined for account metrics rather than content quality, Insense says "you may be eligible to reapply as a UGC-only creator directly through the app."

How does Insense pay creators?

You set an average price and quote per campaign. The brand's payment is frozen on Insense's account and moves to your Insense wallet after approval; payout is to PayPal within 3 working days or a bank within 5.

Can you use AI on Insense?

Insense's creator terms allow content to be modified "using solely AI-tools licensed by Insense", with AI campaign content sent to the creator for approval. Whether creators may submit AI-generated videos is not stated on their site.

Is there an Insense alternative for AI creators?

If you make full AI ads that already perform, Anglr pays AI creators, editors and agencies on performance. If you are building an audience or a first portfolio, Influee or Trybe (jointrybe.com) fit better.
