What are UGC creator jobs?
UGC creator jobs are paid requests from brands for short videos or photos made in the style of a real customer: reviews, unboxings, tutorials, testimonials. The brand usually runs the video in its own ads or on its own social accounts, so your follower count often does not matter.
Most UGC work is freelance and per project, not employment. A "job" is usually one brief: a product, an angle, a length and a deadline. This guide explains where those briefs are posted, how they pay, and how to judge them. It is a guide, not a list of openings.
New to the term? What is UGC explains it, and how to become a UGC creator covers the first steps.
Where are UGC creator jobs posted?
UGC creator jobs are posted in four main places: UGC platforms, freelance marketplaces, job boards, and direct from brands and agencies. Each works differently.
| Where | How a job appears | How you get it | Typical pay model |
|---|---|---|---|
| UGC platforms | Brand briefs inside an app or dashboard | Apply to the brief; the brand approves you | Fixed fee per video, sometimes plus products |
| Freelance marketplaces | Client job posts, or your own gig listing | Send a proposal, or a client orders your gig | Your price per gig, or hourly or fixed contracts |
| Job boards | Listings on general job sites | Apply like any job | Per video, hourly or salaried |
| Direct and agencies | Brand outreach, agency rosters, social posts | Pitch, or get matched by an agency | Agreed per deal |
| Performance platforms | Brand programs or campaigns | Join a program; some ask you to apply | Commission, views or a mix |
UGC platforms
UGC platforms list brand briefs for creators to apply to. Pay and terms are set per brief, and the platform handles payment after the brand approves the video.
Examples from the platforms' own pages, checked 12 Oct 2026:
- Billo: you create a profile in the app, upload a short intro video, then "Hit apply and wait for the brand to approve you" (Billo).
- SideShift: you create a free account, complete a profile and attach "links to top-performing videos"; it supports creators "based in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia" (SideShift).
- JoinBrands: the steps are "Pick a job", "Create content", "Get paid", with fixed pricing and "No price negotiations" (JoinBrands).
- Twirl: you submit an application with your UGC portfolio; it says review "can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks" (Twirl).
Best UGC platforms for creators compares more of them.
Freelance marketplaces
On freelance marketplaces you either list a UGC service or bid on client posts. Fiverr has a UGC Videos section and says it "now offers two types of UGC services: Human UGC and AI UGC" (Fiverr). On Upwork, proposals cost Connects, "the virtual tokens freelancers use on Upwork to submit proposals for jobs" (Upwork).
Job boards
General job boards such as Indeed, ZipRecruiter and Glassdoor have "UGC creator" search pages. They mix freelance per-video work, part-time roles and salaried in-house content jobs.
Read each listing on the employer's own page before you apply. Aggregated pay ranges in listing titles can be out of date.
Direct from brands and agencies
Many creators find work by pitching brands they already buy from, or by joining an agency's roster. Brands looking for UGC creators covers how to pitch, and UGC agency for creators explains how agencies match creators to briefs.
Are UGC creator jobs remote?
Most UGC creator jobs are remote: you make the video at home and deliver the files online. The limit is usually country, not location within a country.
Platforms often restrict who can join. On 12 Oct 2026:
| Platform | Who can join, from its own page |
|---|---|
| Billo | US, Canada or UK, 18 or over, on its FAQ; its creator terms also list Australia |
| SideShift | US, Canada, UK and Australia |
| JoinBrands | USA, UK, Germany, Australia or Canada, 18 or over |
| trend.io | "iphone & us based users only" (trend.io) |
| Twirl | "mainly" the UK, US, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UAE |
If you live outside these lists, freelance marketplaces and direct pitches are the more open routes.
How do UGC jobs pay?
UGC jobs pay in three ways: a flat fee per video, free products (gifted), or pay tied to performance. Some jobs combine them.
| Type | What you get | When you are paid | Example from a platform's own page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flat fee | A set amount per approved video | After the brand approves | Billo: the Order Fee is "full compensation for your work" (Billo terms) |
| Gifted | The product, no cash | When the product arrives | Influee's tips include "Take unpaid gigs in return for free products" (Influee) |
| Product plus cash | Product and a fee | Fee after approval | trend.io lists "Free Products + Cash" (trend.io) |
| Performance | Commission on sales, a share of ad spend, or pay per views | As results come in | Trybe (jointrybe.com): "Creators get paid on ad performance plus any retainers or bonuses arranged with the brand" (Trybe) |
| Views (CPM) | Pay per 1,000 views on posts you publish | After a set period | Content Rewards: "CPM pays per 1,000 views" (Content Rewards) |
Flat fees are predictable. Performance pay can be higher on ads that work and close to nothing on ads that do not. For figures, UGC creator salary collects sourced rates, and performance pay vs flat fee compares the models.
How do you judge a UGC job offer?
Judge an offer on what the brand gets to do with your video, not only on the fee. The same fee can be fair for a video used once on organic social and low for a video the brand runs as a paid ad for a year.
Use this checklist on every offer:
| Check | What to look for | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Usage rights | Organic only, or paid ads too? On which platforms? | Paid usage is worth more than organic |
| Usage duration | 30 days, 90 days, a year, or unlimited? | Longer usage is worth more; unlimited should cost more |
| Payment terms | Amount, currency, when it is earned, how long after approval it arrives | You need to know when the money arrives and in what currency |
| Revisions | How many rounds are included, and what counts as a new video | Unlimited revisions can double the work |
| Whitelisting | Will the brand run ads from your social account? Is it paid separately? | Your name and account are on the ad |
| Exclusivity | Can you work for competing brands, and for how long? | Exclusivity limits your other work |
| Posting | Do you have to post it on your account, and keep it up? | Posting is extra work and uses your audience |
| Raw files | Does the brand want raw footage or project files? | Raw files let the brand make new edits without you |
| Product | Shipped free, reimbursed, or counted as payment? | Gifted product is not cash |
| AI use | Can the brand edit your video or likeness with AI? | Your face and voice could appear in content you did not make |
Some platforms write these terms into their rules. Examples:
- Revisions: Insense includes "up to 3 round of revisions" in the creator fee (Insense terms).
- Posting: SideShift's terms say approved deliverables must stay live "for at least three (3) months" unless the agreement says otherwise (SideShift terms).
- Usage periods: Twirl pays extra "for projects where you grant permission to your content/post for a 30-day period" (Twirl).
UGC usage rights explains each term in detail, and the UGC rate card and contract template gives you a contract to fill in. This is general information, not legal advice.
What are the warning signs in a UGC job post?
The clearest warning signs are a request for money from you, no written terms, and unlimited rights for little or no pay. Walk away or ask for changes in writing.
- You are asked to pay to apply, buy a course or buy a starter kit to get the job.
- The brand will not put rights, pay and deadlines in writing.
- The offer is gifted only, but the brand wants unlimited paid-ad usage.
- Payment is "after the campaign" with no date.
- The post asks for your bank login or other passwords. No genuine brief needs them.
- The brand asks for many free "test" videos before any paid work.
How do you get UGC jobs as a beginner with no experience?
Make three to five sample videos, put them on one public portfolio link, and apply to platforms that say they accept new creators. Expect to apply to many briefs before one is accepted.
Step by step:
- Pick one or two niches. Choose product categories you already use: skincare, kitchen, pets, apps.
- Make spec videos. Film products you own as if a brand had briefed you, with a hook, a product moment and a call to action. Label them as spec work.
- Build a portfolio. One link a brand can open on a phone without signing in. UGC portfolio covers what to include.
- Set your rates. Research published rates first; UGC creator salary lists sourced figures.
- Join beginner-friendly platforms. Use the table below.
- Pitch directly. Send short, specific pitches to brands you buy from.
- Track every application. Note the platform, brief, date and result, and improve the samples that do not get picked.
Platforms whose own pages say they accept new creators, checked 12 Oct 2026:
| Platform | What its page says |
|---|---|
| Billo | "No professional experience or social media presence is required" (Billo) |
| Twirl | "I'm brand new to UGC, can I still apply? Of course! We care about quality, not experience." (Twirl) |
| trend.io | No follower count needed: "You might not even have social media and that's totally fine." (trend.io) |
| Influee | "From beginners to professionals, creators of all experience levels are finding paid opportunities." (Influee) |
| SideShift | "This opens the door for anyone to earn—even for folks just getting started!" (SideShift) |
| Trybe (jointrybe.com) | "followers don't matter on Trybe" (Trybe) |
Insense is the exception in this group: it asks for a UGC portfolio and "a minimum of 1,000 followers on Instagram and at least 500 median views on TikTok" (Insense). Its tips also suggest "aiming for at least 20 applications to get chosen in one".
What about AI UGC creator jobs?
AI UGC jobs are briefs for UGC-style ads made with AI video, voice and editing tools instead of filming yourself. Fewer platforms list them, and many UGC platforms do not state whether AI-made videos are allowed.
Fiverr is the clearest: it lists AI UGC as its own service type and asks sellers to "Be transparent about Human vs AI production and tools used" (Fiverr). On other platforms, ask in writing before you submit AI work. AI creator marketplace compares where AI creators can find paid work, and AI video editor jobs covers editing roles.
Where does Anglr fit?
Anglr is not a job board and it does not list openings. It is for creators whose ads already perform.
Anglr pays AI creators, editors and agencies on performance, with an optional smart retainer for hitting volume, to remake winning ad scripts in every format: UGC, podcast, drama, animation and brand film. Anglr provides the winning scripts and angles; creators use their own AI tools. Every video goes through QC and compliance review before it goes live.
If you are a beginner, the steps above are the right place to start, and Anglr is not. If you already make finished AI ads that perform, read how Anglr works for creators and the standards under what we look for. See all the UGC creator guides.
Who this is for
- Independent AI creators and editors. You make the ads yourself. You know your work performs, so you'd rather be paid on what it does than on a flat fee.
- AI agencies and studios. You run a team of editors. You write the brief, your team makes the versions, and you're paid on performance because you know your team's ads scale.
Not for you if
- You only want a flat fee.
- You're new to editing and not yet confident your ads will perform.
- You want every shot spelled out for you.
- You make one style and won't try others.
FAQ
Where can I find UGC creator jobs?
On UGC platforms that list brand briefs, on freelance marketplaces such as Fiverr and Upwork, on general job boards, and by pitching brands and agencies directly. Most creators use more than one.
Are UGC creator jobs remote?
Most are. You film or make the video where you are and deliver files online, though many platforms only accept creators in certain countries, so check the eligibility list first.
Can I get UGC jobs with no experience?
Yes. Several platforms say they accept new creators; for example, Billo says "No professional experience or social media presence is required" on its creator page. You still need sample videos that show you can make a finished ad.
Do I need followers to get UGC jobs?
Usually not, because the brand runs the video from its own account. Some platforms set minimums, such as Insense, which asks for at least 1,000 Instagram followers and 500 median TikTok views (Insense).
Should I accept gifted UGC jobs?
Only if the product is worth the work to you and the brand's usage of the video is limited. Free product for a video the brand can run as a paid ad without time limits is a poor trade once you have a portfolio.
What should I check before accepting a UGC job?
Usage rights, how long the brand can use the video, payment amount and timing, revision rounds, whitelisting, exclusivity and who keeps the raw files. Get them in writing.
